Imagine a Town of Erin website that feels welcoming, easy to use, and truly connected to our community. Right now, our digital front door is due for a transformation, and your voice is essential in making it happen. As we begin our journey, we invite residents to complete the survey below that will guide our transformation.
SURVEY FINDINGS
The results are in! Thank you to everyone who took part in the Erin.ca Website User Experience Survey on Erin Engaged. This valuable information will help guide the process of upgrading the Town of Erin’s municipal website – https://www.erin.ca. This survey reconfirms the need to create a more user-friendly, easy-to-navigate site that acts as a hub for local municipal information.
Here are some key findings:
• 41 per cent of respondents find it difficult to find the information they need on Erin.ca.
• 41 per cent of respondents also find the website navigation and layout confusing.
• 55 per cent of users are neutral on the visual design and readability of the site.
Also, users want news and announcements, road closures and office closures posted on the home page. Respondents would like easier access to By-laws, Council meetings and other commonly accessed items.
Congratulations to Sue from Erin Village who is the winner of the $50 Tin Roof gift card for participating in our survey. Town of Erin staff have compiled this information alongside requests from staff and Council to be presented to the website designers shortly. Website content is being updated this spring, and a beta version of the site is slated for late July. Stay tuned for more updates!
Our current website has served us well, but it’s showing its age. Residents, businesses, and visitors have told us about frustrating dead links, confusing navigation, and pages that just don’t work the way they should.
